We are located right here in Vill Badhanu, which is part of the Aligarh district. Most of us grew up around these fields, so starting Maa Khamakhya Devi Farmers Producer Company Limited felt like the next right thing to do. It isn’t some fancy setup with glass windows and air conditioning. It is just a group of us who know the soil and want to handle our business together instead of doing it all alone. Aligarh is known for many things, but for us, it is just home and where we work every day. We named the company after the goddess because that is what we know. The office is small and usually has mud on the floor from someone coming in from the farm. We spend a lot of time talking about the weather and what the crops look like this month. It is mostly about getting the seeds right and making sure we have what we need for the harvest. There are no big bosses here, just people who have been farming since they were kids. Sometimes the paperwork gets confusing, but we manage. If you come by Badhanu, you’ll see us working or sitting outside when the sun goes down. It is a quiet life, mostly focused on the dirt and the seasons. We don’t have much to say about ourselves other than we are just farmers trying to keep things moving and looking out for each other in the village.
