Neha Stone India is tucked away on the Koteshwar Temple Road Tiraha, right in the Gahoi Colony area of Lashkar. We are situated directly opposite the Babdi, which is a well-known local spot. Being near the temple means there is a certain rhythm to the day, with people coming and going for prayers and the bells ringing in the distance. The roads around here can be a bit narrow, so when we get deliveries of stone, it can be a real challenge to get the trucks positioned correctly without blocking the whole lane. We deal with various types of stone every day, and most of it is heavy and dusty. The yard is usually a bit of a mess with offcuts and samples lying around, but we manage to keep it functioning. Lashkar has a lot of history, and you can feel it in the old buildings and the way the colony is laid out. We aren't a big corporation with a lot of rules; we are just a local stone business trying to do honest work. We spend our time talking to contractors and homeowners who need materials for their building projects. It’s a lot of manual labor, checking the slabs and making sure the dimensions are right. We open early and stay until the work is done, just like most of the other shops around the temple.
