Spotlounge Bar

If you know Khari Baoli, you know it’s one of the busiest places you can be. Spotlounge Bar is tucked away in Tilak Bazar, specifically Gali Abdul Hakim at number 175. It’s a narrow lane and things can get pretty crowded out there with all the spice traders and carts moving around. Inside, it’s a bit different. We spent a lot of time getting the place ready. It’s not a massive club or anything like that. It’s just a spot to grab a drink and sit down for a bit. The lighting is a little dim, which is how we like it. We have to haul the crates in through the narrow alley, which is a bit of a pain every Tuesday when the delivery truck comes. The bar counter has a few scratches now, but it shows the place is being used. We aren't trying to be the trendiest place in Delhi. We just want to be a place where the locals can come after a long day in the market. You hear a lot of stories from the people who sit at the bar. Sometimes we just listen while we polish the glasses and wipe the counter down. The noise from the street outside mostly stays outside once the door is shut. It’s a bit of a hideaway for some. We keep the fridge stocked and the chairs straight every single night. It’s a basic business, nothing more, nothing less. We’re just here at 175 doing our thing.
