Cafe Gartino

We’ve been here in Sector 29 for a while now. Shop number 18 isn’t huge, but it works for what we do. Gurgaon is always moving fast and sometimes it feels like the noise from the street never stops. People come in from the nearby offices mostly. Some stay for a long time with their laptops, others just grab a tea and head back out to the heat. It’s a busy patch of ground. We spend most of our mornings just setting up the chairs and making sure the machines are actually working today. Sometimes the power plays up, but that’s just how it goes here. You get used to the rhythm of the sector after a few months. It’s not fancy. We have the same few regulars who come by every afternoon around four. We know their names and what they usually ask for. It’s a simple life running a place like Cafe Gartino. The floor gets dusty pretty quick with everyone walking in and out from the main road. We keep a broom handy. It’s just us working here, trying to get the orders right and keeping the place decent enough for anyone who wants to sit down for a bit. There’s no big story behind it. We just opened up in this spot because it was available and we liked the area. It gets crowded on weekends, which is good for business but makes the kitchen pretty hot. That's about it really.
