Being situated right behind the Toyota showroom at Begumpur Khatola makes us pretty easy to find if you’re driving along the Delhi Jaipur Highway. Our place at Plot No. 6/2 is usually a hub of activity. There’s always some noise from the NH-8 in the background, which you just get used to after a week or two of working here. We handle a lot of tools every single day. Boxes arrive, boxes go out, and sometimes we just sit and sort through things to make sure the counts are right. It’s not a glamorous job, but it’s what we do. The floor gets a bit dusty because of all the construction and traffic nearby, so we’re always sweeping. Most of the guys here have been around for a bit, so we know the inventory pretty well. If someone calls up asking for a specific wrench or a kit, one of us usually knows exactly which corner of the warehouse it’s sitting in. We don't have a big reception area or anything like that. Usually, you just walk in and find someone near the loading dock or at one of the cluttered desks. We just try to keep things moving so nobody is waiting too long for what they need. It can get pretty hot in the afternoons, especially in the summer months, but we keep the fans going and stay on top of the paperwork. We've got a small fridge for cold water, which helps get us through the long shifts.
