We are over at Shop No 205 in Sector 31, Gurgaon. If you are looking for us, we are right near Om Sweets, which everyone knows. Our shop is on the second floor of the complex. It’s a small kitchen and a seating area. We spend most of our day around the stoves. It gets pretty hot in there, especially in the summer months when the Gurgaon heat is at its worst. We cook Chinese food, the kind people like to eat for lunch or take home for dinner. It’s not a fancy dining room with tablecloths or anything like that. We have some tables and chairs, but a lot of people just order and take it away. We get a lot of office workers during the day and then families in the evening. It’s a busy little corner of the sector. Sometimes the delivery guys are standing around waiting for their orders, and it gets a bit crowded near the counter. We use a lot of onions and ginger, so the smell of the kitchen is always there. We do our own shopping for the vegetables and chicken every morning to make sure things are ready before the lunch rush starts. It’s hard work, standing on your feet all day, but it’s what we do. We’ve been in this shop for a bit now and the neighbors in the other units are good people who we talk to every morning.
