Pearls High School is right here on Main Road in the Old Guntur area. We’ve been at 16-4-65 for quite a long time now. Most people around here know the building because of the big gate and the way the kids spill out onto the street when the bell rings at the end of the day. It gets pretty loud around here, especially in the mornings when parents are dropping off their children on scooters. We have several classrooms spread across the floors, and honestly, some of the paint is peeling a bit, but it’s a place where work gets done. The teachers are mostly locals who have been with us for years. They walk to work or take the bus. We don’t have fancy stuff, just desks, benches, and blackboards. Guntur can get really hot, so the fans are always going. Sometimes the power goes out, and we just open the windows and keep going with the lesson. It’s a busy spot in a busy part of town. The kids bring their lunch boxes, and you can smell different things cooking in the neighborhood by noon. It’s just a normal school where we try to keep things moving. We deal with the usual stuff like lost water bottles and messy notebooks. Life here is simple and follows the same rhythm every single week. The stairs are a bit narrow, and we have a small cupboard for lost property that stays full. We’ve seen a lot of kids grow up and move on from this specific spot.
