Mandal Praja Parishath School (Main)

This school is right on the Main Road in Durgi, so everyone passing through the Guntur district sees us. It is the main branch here. The building has been through many seasons, and you can tell by the way the paint looks. We have a large open area where the kids gather. In the mornings, you see students walking in from all directions, some coming from quite far away. The dust in Durgi can be a bit much when the wind picks up, so we are always cleaning the windows and the desks. There are a few old trees on the property that provide a nice spot for the older kids to sit during their breaks. We have several classrooms, each with those heavy wooden benches that have been here for years. The bells are rung by hand, and that sound travels across the whole neighborhood. It is a busy place, especially on Mondays. The staff room is usually full of notebooks and tea cups. We don't have a lot of modern equipment, but we have what is necessary. Life here follows a very set routine. When the final bell rings at the end of the day, the whole place clears out pretty fast. It is just a part of the daily life in this part of Guntur. We deal with the heat and the rain just like everyone else in the village.
