Down Town Bar

Down Town Bar is inside Prashant Hotel, right there on Station Road in Gulbarga. Since we are directly opposite the railway station, we get a lot of people who have just hopped off a train and need a place to sit for a while. Station Road is always hectic with rickshaws and people carrying luggage everywhere. It’s a convenient spot for travelers, but we also have our local regulars who live in the neighborhood. The bar itself is simple and doesn't have any of those modern bells and whistles. We have a few tables and chairs, and the lighting is kept a bit low. Most of the work involves keeping the glasses clean and making sure the stock is replenished. It gets quite warm in Gulbarga, so we try our best to keep the fans going at full speed. Sometimes the noise from the station across the street is quite loud, especially when the big trains pull in. We don't really do advertisements; people just see the hotel and wander in. The staff here has been around for a while, so we know how to handle the busy hours when multiple trains arrive at once. It’s not a polished place, and the walls could probably use a fresh coat of paint eventually. We just provide a spot for people to grab a drink and relax before they head to their next destination. It’s a basic, honest setup that serves the station crowd well enough.
