Acc Cement(Holcim)

This is the Wadi location for Acc Cement. We are out here in Karnataka, doing the usual work that comes with being part of the Holcim family. Wadi is a place where cement is pretty much the main thing going on. You can see the stacks from a distance and the dust settles on everything if you aren't careful. It’s a hot place, and the work isn't for people who like to stay clean or sit in air conditioning all day. We just get on with it. There isn't much to say that isn't already obvious when you drive up to the gates. We handle a lot of the heavy lifting for the region. It’s a big site, so there’s always someone moving something or a whistle blowing for a shift change. We don’t have a long list of goals written on the walls. Mostly we just focus on the schedule and making sure the loaders are full. Some of us have been here for years, watching the town grow around the plant. It’s a steady kind of life. Karnataka weather can be tough in the summer, but the plant keeps running regardless. If you’re coming to Wadi, you can’t really miss us. We are just a bunch of regular people making cement and trying to keep everything on track. It’s practical work. Not much else to it really. We have our hands full every day, and that's just the way we like to keep it.
