Presidency School is situated in Patkholi Sahajanva, which is near the University area in Gorakhpur. It is a bit of a drive from the main city center, but the location is quite open compared to the more crowded parts of town. The building is fairly large and has been standing for some time now. We have a lot of students coming in from different parts of the district, and the mornings are usually a bit of a rush with buses and vans arriving at the gate. The classrooms are standard with the usual desks and chairs, and we try to keep the fans running as much as possible because Gorakhpur gets incredibly hot. There is a lot of space for the kids to walk around during their lunch break. Most of our day is spent dealing with the curriculum and making sure the exams are scheduled correctly. It is a lot of administrative work that people don't often see. We have a small garden area that we try to keep green, though the goats sometimes get in and eat the plants. The teachers stay busy with their lesson plans, and there is always someone in the office looking for a form or a signature. It is a steady environment where things happen according to the bell. We just focus on the basic tasks of running a school and making sure everything is in its place before we head home.
