Adrash Junior High School Dangipar sits in a quiet spot in the Dangipar area of Gorakhpur. The school is a simple structure that has been part of this neighborhood for quite some time now. In the mornings, you can see the children walking down the narrow lanes to get to the main gate. We have a few trees in the courtyard that provide some shade when the Gorakhpur sun gets too hot in April and May. The classrooms are basic, with rows of benches and open windows to let the air in. We do not have much in the way of decoration, just some charts on the walls that the kids made. The teachers usually gather in the small office before the first bell rings to talk about the day. We deal with the usual things like leaky taps or a door that won't shut properly, but we fix them as we go. The road outside is mostly quiet except for the occasional tractor or rickshaw passing through Dangipar. It is a humble place, and we just go about our work every day without much fuss. The bells we use are just a heavy piece of metal hit with a hammer, and everyone around here knows that sound by heart. It is just a regular school life for us.
