Elizabeth Green Model School

The classrooms are just standard rooms with wooden benches and blackboards or greenboards. You’ll see the kids lined up for morning assembly in the courtyard every day. It’s a bit of a traditional setup. We don't have high-tech gadgets in every corner. It’s more about the teachers talking and the kids writing in their notebooks. Gorakhpur can get very hot, so the high ceilings in the older part of the building help a little. The staff room is always a bit cluttered with notebooks waiting to be checked. It’s a very human place. Parents come by to talk about their kids' progress, and there is a lot of back-and-forth. We aren't trying to be a fancy international school. We are just a local school providing a place for the children of Gorakhpur to learn their lessons and grow up. It’s a steady, reliable part of the neighborhood. The gates open early and the day follows a very predictable, honest routine.
