Matrubhoomi Gramodyog Farmer Producercompany Limited

This is Matrubhoomi Gramodyog. We are based out of Bhondu’s place in the village of Vijaypur Taprabouriha. It is quite a long name to say, but we are right here in the Tarabganj area of Gonda. We are just a group of farmers. We wanted to have a company that belonged to the people who actually do the work, so we started this producer group. It is not a big corporate building with a lobby. It is just a house where we keep the records and meet up to talk. The area around here is mostly farms and small plots of land. We do things the old way for the most part. There are not a lot of computers or modern gadgets in our office. We prefer to talk to each other face to face when there is a decision to be made. It seems to work well enough for us. Some days we might spend more time drinking tea and talking about the neighborhood than we do on the paperwork, but the work gets done eventually. People around Gonda know who we are. We are just local folks trying to handle our own produce without getting overwhelmed. It is better than trying to deal with people from the city who do not understand what it is like to work the land. We are not looking to grow into some massive firm with thousands of workers. We just want to keep things stable for the families involved in our little group.
