Veer Ji Punjabi Tadka

Our shop is 393a in the Ram Nagar Kirana Mandi area of Ghaziabad. We are right opposite Ban Warri Lal. It’s a crowded part of the market, so there’s always something happening outside our door. We named the place Veer Ji Punjabi Tadka. It’s not a big restaurant, just a small shop where we cook. Most people take their food home, but we have a couple of small tables if you want to eat right there. The Mandi is a loud place with lots of trucks and carts, so it’s never quiet here. We focus on the basics. We use a lot of local spices because that’s what people around here like. It’s a busy life in Ghaziabad and people don't always have time to cook at home. That's where we come in. We don't have fancy uniforms or a printed menu that looks like a book. It’s just a chalkboard or a simple list. We’ve been in this market for a while and we know most of the other shopkeepers. They come to us for lunch. We don't spend money on advertising. People just find us by the smell of the tadka or by asking around the Mandi. It’s a bit messy sometimes, especially when the market is at its peak, but the food is always fresh. We just do our work and go home. That’s how we've always operated.
