Out here in Fatehpur, specifically in Ekdala, life mostly revolves around what is growing in the dirt. We started Ekdala Agro Farmer Producer Company Limited because it felt like the right time to get all the local growers on the same page. It is located right at number 26 in Ekdala. We aren't doing anything flashy. It’s just a group of us who know how to handle the land and want to make sure our crops actually get where they need to go without too much trouble. Sometimes the meetings take a long time because everyone has an opinion on how to do things, but that’s just how it is with neighbors. We talk about fertilizers, what the market is doing, and how the last rains affected the wheat or whatever else we have in the ground. Being in Uttar Pradesh means the weather is always giving us something to talk about. We aren't trying to be some giant corporation that nobody can talk to. If you come by, you’ll just see people who have spent their whole lives in these fields. We keep the books as best we can and try to help each other out when things get tight during the lean months. It is plain work, but it’s our work. Most days are just spent checking on things and making sure the supplies are ready for the next round of planting.
