We are located in Ayah Adhah, over in the Fatehpur district. Kuldip Kumar’s place is where we usually meet to talk about the business. Ayahkuldip Farmer Producer Company Limited is the name we use, but mostly we are just neighbors. We’ve all got our own little pieces of land where we grow whatever the season allows. Farming in this part of Uttar Pradesh has its ups and downs. Sometimes the crops are great and sometimes they aren't, so we figured that being together in a group would help us stay steady. We don't have any polished marketing or a big fancy office. We are just real people who spend most of our time outdoors. We talk about things like the cost of diesel for the pumps and where to get the best seeds for the next planting. It’s honest, gritty work. Our meetings are pretty informal, usually just sitting around and discussing what needs to be done for the next harvest. We aren't experts in anything except working our own land. We started this because it felt like the right thing to do for our families and the village. If you come to Ayah Adhah, you’ll see how we live and work. It’s not a complicated story. We just want to make sure we can keep farming for years to come without struggling so much on our own. It’s all about the community and the soil here, and nothing else really matters as much.
