Sonu Shahi Kabab

We are located right on the Main Mathura Road in Faridabad City. It’s number 17/6. Being on the main road means there is always a lot of traffic and smoke from the cars. It’s a noisy spot but that’s just how Faridabad is. We focus on the kababs. The charcoal gets hot and we spend the whole evening standing over the grill. It makes your clothes smell like smoke. The shop isn't very wide, it’s mostly deep. We have the skewers lined up and the meat ready. People pull over their bikes or cars and wait on the side of the road. It gets very busy after sunset. The street lights are bright and there are lots of other shops around us. We don't have much furniture, just a few places to stand or sit quickly. It’s a lot of heavy work, lifting the bags of coal and cleaning the grates. The heat from the fire is constant. We go through a lot of onions and lemons every day. Sometimes the dust from the road comes inside so we are always wiping the counters. It’s a tough spot to work because of the heat and the noise, but we’ve been here at 17/6 for a while. We just keep the fire going and serve whoever comes by on the road. It is just a routine for us now. The traffic never seems to stop and we just stay here until very late at night.
