Surajkund is a place that feels a bit different from the rest of the busy cities nearby. We are located right here, run as a unit of the Haryana Tourism Corporation. Because we are out in this area, things tend to be a little quieter until the big Mela happens. Then, everything changes and the whole place is packed with people. The rest of the year, it is just us and the trees. The building has that solid, older feel that many government-run spots have. We don't have a marketing team writing fancy words for us. We just have the staff who show up and take care of the rooms and the grounds. Sometimes the paperwork takes a bit longer because of how things are structured, but we try to help guests as best as we can. People come here when they want to get away from the noise of Delhi or Faridabad for a day or two. The air feels a bit clearer here, which is nice. We spend a lot of time maintaining the property, which is quite large. It isn't always perfect, and sometimes a tap might leak or a bulb might go out, but we fix it when we can. It’s a simple place with a lot of space, and we just try to keep it running for whoever decides to visit Surajkund.
