Radhe Bhojnalay

Our shop is number 30 in the market area of Faridabad. Being so close to the Dabua Sabzi Mandi means we get a lot of noise and a lot of fresh stuff coming in every morning. It’s a small place, nothing like those big restaurants you see in the malls. We mostly serve the people who work in the mandi or locals who live around here. The floor is concrete and we have basic tables that have seen better days. It’s usually hot in the kitchen, especially in the summer, but we keep the fans going. We don’t have a big menu, just what we can cook well every day. People come in, eat their fill, and head back to their work. We start early because the market starts early. There’s no point in being fancy when your customers are hardworking people who just want a hot plate of food. Sometimes the street outside is so busy with trucks and carts that it’s hard to hear yourself talk. We’ve been at this spot for years. My brother handles the accounts and I look after the cooking and the boys who serve the food. We don't put up big posters or anything. People know we are here. It’s a simple bhojnalay. We just try to make sure nobody leaves hungry. That’s about all there is to it. We keep things going one day at a time.
