Gulati Dhaba

Our dhaba is located at 663/68 on Gurudwara Road in the NIT area of Faridabad. We are right in Jawahar Colony, not too far from the post office. If you know NIT, you know how crowded and lively the streets are around here. A dhaba is supposed to be a place for everyone, and that’s what we try to be. We have benches and tables that have seen better days, but they do the job. The street outside is always full of action, with people going to the Gurudwara or heading to work. We start cooking early in the morning, and the pots are usually bubbling by sunrise. It’s a noisy place, between the traffic outside and the clinking of plates inside. We don’t have a fancy menu card with photos; it’s just the same dishes we have been making for years. The walls are a bit stained from the steam and smoke, but that’s just the character of an old dhaba. We don't bother with fancy lighting or decorations. People come here because they know what they are going to get. Faridabad is a tough city sometimes, and we just provide a place where you can sit down for a bit and eat something hot. We handle everything ourselves, from buying the vegetables in the morning to locking up the gate at night. It’s not a glamorous life, but it’s our life and we are used to the rhythm of Gurudwara Road.
