City Dhaba

City Dhaba is located on the Byepass Road in Sector 13 of Faridabad. We are right behind the IOC building. It’s a bit of a dusty area with all the trucks and cars going by on the bypass, but that’s just the life of a dhaba. We have a lot of space for people to sit down. It’s not fancy at all, and we don't pretend it is. We have the basic metal chairs and heavy wooden tables. Most people who stop here are driving long distances or work nearby in the industrial areas. We keep the tea brewing in a big pot all day long. The kitchen is always busy, especially in the evenings when the air finally cools down a bit. We use a lot of coal and wood for some of the cooking because it gives a better flavor to the food. The floor is just concrete, which makes it easy to wash down with a hose at the end of the shift. We don't have a waiter in a uniform; we just have some guys who know the menu by heart. It’s a loud place, with the highway noise and the big fans going full blast. We’ve been here in 121007 for quite some time now. We don't have a menu with pictures or anything. You just ask what's fresh and we tell you what we've made. It’s honest food for hungry people. We don't do any fancy plating here.
