Sabari Bricks

We run the business out of the Sabari Sudhan Building on Sri Ranga Street. It’s a basic setup at No. 60/1. Dealing with bricks is heavy work and it gets dusty, but it’s what we’ve always done. We spend most of our time organizing loads and making sure the counts are right before things head out. It’s not the kind of job where you stay clean. By the end of the day, there’s red dust on everything in the office. People come to us when they are starting a small wall or a bigger project nearby. We don't do much advertising because most folks just find us through word of mouth. The building is easy to spot once you get onto the street. We’ve got stacks of materials that move in and out depending on the week. Some days are slower than others, giving us time to fix up the yard or check the inventory properly. It’s just a straightforward operation. We don't use fancy software; we keep track of things the old-fashioned way. If someone needs a certain type of brick, we tell them straight if we have it or not. No point in making things complicated. It’s just about getting the supplies to where they need to go. We’ve been at this address for a good while and the neighbors know us. It’s hard work, but it’s honest. We usually start early in the morning before the heat gets too bad, and we finish up when the last truck is gone.
