The workshop over here at Plot No.42 in the Kakkanad CSEZ area is usually pretty noisy from early morning. We spend most of our time dealing with different types of wood, and you can always smell the fresh sawdust in the air when you walk through the doors. It is not a fancy place, just a workspace where we get things done. Some days are busier than others depending on what orders came in the week before. We have been in this spot as V R Wood Art Ltd for a while now and the locals know where to find us. Usually, someone is out back moving planks around or checking the finish on a piece. It is honest work and keeps our hands busy. Sometimes the machines act up and we have to spend an hour fixing a belt or sharpening a blade, but that is just part of the job. People think wood art is quiet work but it really isn't. There is a lot of heavy lifting and sweating involved before anything looks nice. We don't have a big office or anything like that. Just the main floor where the work happens and a small corner for keeping the paperwork straight. If you come by, you'll probably see one of us covered in wood shavings. It is just how things go here in Kakkanad. We just try to get the orders out on time and make sure the wood is seasoned right so it doesn't warp later on.
