Better By Design

Our place, Better By Design, is located at No.28/107 on Panampally Avenue in Panampilly Nagar. This is a pretty nice part of the city, and it’s usually quite peaceful compared to the main roads. We have a small studio here where we spend most of our time drawing up plans and looking at materials. It’s a bit of a creative mess sometimes, with sketches pinned to the walls and samples of fabrics or tiles sitting on every available surface. We aren’t one of those big, cold design firms with marble floors. It’s just a simple room with some good light where we can focus on our work. People usually come to see us by appointment, and we just sit around the big table in the middle to talk through things. Sometimes we get so wrapped up in a project that we lose track of time. Panampilly Nagar has changed quite a bit since we first set up shop here, but the avenue still has a good feel to it. We don't have a lot of staff, just a few of us who really like what we do. It’s not about being the biggest name in town; we just want to do work that we aren’t embarrassed by. The coffee machine is probably the most used thing in the office besides the computers. It’s a quiet life, mostly, just working on one design at a time until the sun goes down.
