BELMONT ORCHIDS

We operate out of Belmont House, which is where we keep all our orchids. It is a quiet place, mostly filled with the sound of fans and the dripping of water from the misting systems we have to use. Orchids can be quite picky about their environment, so we spend a lot of our time checking the temperature and making sure the light is just right through the glass. It is not like a normal office at all. There are pots everywhere and rows of benches holding plants in various stages of growth. Some are just starting to sprout while others have big blooms on them. We get our hands dirty every day with bark and moss. It is a slow kind of work because you cannot rush a plant into flowering. We have been at Belmont House for a long time now, and the building has become part of the business itself. It has that old feel to it, which suits the plants. We don't have a lot of walk-in traffic, as most of our time is spent tending to the flowers or packing them carefully for transport. It is a very peaceful way to earn a living, even if it means working on weekends to make sure nothing dries out. We just focus on the plants and let them do their thing in their own time. It takes a lot of patience to do this, but seeing the new colors come out makes it worth it.
