It’s a bit different from regular farming because you are dealing with bees. They have a mind of their own. We spend our time checking on the hives and seeing how much honey is being made. Upperu is a nice spot for this because of the plants around here. The office at 5-94 is a simple place where we keep our tools and the jars. We are a producer company, so it’s a group of us working together. We don't have a big marketing budget or anything like that. We just focus on the bees and getting the honey out. Sometimes the stings happen, but you get used to it after a while. The work depends a lot on the flowers and the weather. If there's no rain, the bees don't have much to work with. We spend a lot of time outdoors in the sun. It's a quiet kind of life for the most part. We like being tucked away in Kukunuru away from the big city noise. Most of our neighbors are also farmers of some kind. We just handle the honey side of things. It is a slow process, but we aren't in a hurry. We just take it one season at a time and see how it goes.
