Hot & Cold Chinese

This little shop is right next to the Reliance Fresh in Sakchi, specifically over at Seagul Apartments. We’ve been here for a bit now, just making Chinese food for whoever walks by. Jamshedpur is a place where people really like their snacks, so we figured this was a good spot for us. It’s not a huge place, so you might miss it if you aren't looking closely. We usually have the stove going from morning until late at night. The guys in the kitchen have been with me for a couple of years now and they know exactly how I like things done. We don't spend money on big signs or anything like that. People find us because they live nearby or they're out doing their grocery shopping next door. Sometimes it gets a bit smoky when we’re busy, but we just open the door to let the air in. Sakchi is always crowded, so there’s always something happening outside. We just focus on the orders. There’s a lot of chopping and prep work that happens before we even open the shutters. I usually sit near the counter to handle the cash and talk to the regulars. It’s a decent living for us. We don't have any big plans to expand, we just want to keep things going here at Seagul Apartments. It feels right for us. Nothing too complicated, just a small kitchen and a few stools for customers. We like it this way.
