South Indian Hot Chips

We are located over on Chilla Road in Mayur Vihar Phase I, right at P 18 in Pandav Nagar. It’s a small shop, mostly focused on getting those chips out to people. We spend a lot of our day frying things up. You can usually smell the oil and the spices from down the street. It’s a busy little spot. We don't have a lot of space for sitting, so most folks just grab their bags and head home. We make different kinds of snacks, not just the banana chips, though those are popular. The machines and the big fryers take up most of the room in the back. It gets pretty hot in here during the summer months. My family has been doing this kind of work for a while. We source the ingredients, slice them up, and get them into the oil. Every bag is filled by hand. Sometimes the line gets a bit long in the evenings when people are heading back from work. We try to move fast. There’s no fancy packaging or big ads. It’s just the chips in clear bags. People know where we are. If you’re walking through Pandav Nagar, you’ll see the stacks of yellow chips in the window. We just keep frying and bagging, day after day. It’s hard work but it keeps us busy and the neighborhood seems to appreciate having fresh snacks nearby. We often stay late to prep for the next morning. It’s a lot of peeling and slicing, but that’s just the job.
