Shah Namkeen

We’ve been here at 83, Indra Park for a while now. Most people know us because we’re right near Chander Nagar. It’s a busy spot but we like it here. Shah Namkeen started small and stayed that way mostly. We spend our mornings getting the snacks ready. There’s a lot of frying and mixing involved in what we do. It gets hot in the kitchen especially during the summer months. We use basic ingredients that you’d find in any home kitchen. Nothing fancy or complicated. Sometimes the shop gets crowded in the evenings when everyone is heading home from work. We try to keep things organized but it’s just how it goes. People come in for a bit of this and a bit of that. We pack everything in simple bags. It's just us working here, making sure the namkeen tastes like it should. We don't really do big advertisements or anything like that. Word of mouth works well enough for a place like ours. The neighbors stop by often just to say hello or grab a quick snack for tea time. Our shelves are usually full but some days we run out of the popular items faster than we expect. That’s just part of the business. If you walk past Chander Nagar you’ll probably smell what we’re cooking. It’s a plain shop, nothing special to look at, but we keep it clean. We’ve seen the neighborhood change over the years but we’re still here at the same old address.
