Shanti Bikaneri Sweets

We sit at 287 in Patpar Ganj Village, right opposite the Akash Darshan Apartments. It’s a busy corner of Patpar Ganj. We’ve been serving sweets and snacks here for quite some time. The shop is usually full in the evenings when people are coming home from work and want something to eat. We make all the usual Indian sweets in the back. It gets very hot near the big vats of sugar syrup, but that is part of the job. We also have snacks like samosas and kachoris that we fry up fresh. It is a local spot where people stand around and talk while they eat. We aren't a big chain, just this one shop serving the neighborhood. The apartments across the street bring in a lot of our regulars. We know most of their faces by now. Sometimes the morning rush is a bit much, especially on festival days when everyone wants their boxes of sweets at the same time. We try to keep up as best as we can. Our shop isn't fancy, just a few glass cases and a place to stand. We focus on keeping things clean and getting the food out. It’s a busy life, but it’s what we know. We’ve been part of the village life here for years and hope to stay for many more. It is a simple life centered around the stove and the customer counter.
