Raisins

You can find us over in the Paharganj Industrial Area at G-1. It's a bit of a gritty part of town with all the workshops and warehouses around, but that's where we’ve been for many years. Raisins isn't a fancy name, it just stuck when we first moved in. We mostly serve the people who work in the factories and printing offices around the G-1 block. The building is old, and we’ve had to fix the plumbing and the wiring a few times lately. It’s a very practical space with simple tables and metal chairs that have seen better days. We start early in the morning, usually before the sun is fully up, to get things ready for the first shift of workers who need tea. It’s often dusty outside because of the heavy trucks moving through the industrial area, so we keep the doors shut mostly. We don't have a big menu with lots of options. We just make what we know the local workers like to eat every day. It’s a lot of repeat customers who come in at the same time every morning. Sometimes we forget to change the calendar on the wall or clear the old newspapers. It’s just a regular place to eat where nobody cares much about how things look as long as the food is hot and ready. We don’t do any delivery; you just have to come by the gate and find us.
