Rachna Handicrafts

Rachna Handicrafts is based at A-84 in Kundun Nagar, over in the Bank Colony area. It’s a more residential feeling part of town compared to the main markets. We have a decent amount of space here, which is lucky because we have a lot of stuff. The front area is where we keep the finished pieces, and the back is where all the actual work happens. You can usually hear the sound of someone sanding or painting throughout the day. We have a small team, mostly people from the local neighborhood who have been with us since we started. There’s a big tree right outside our front door that gives us some nice shade in the afternoons. Sometimes we take our lunch out there if it isn’t too dusty. We don’t really have a big fancy office; it’s more like a workshop that grew into a business over time. The walls are covered with sketches and notes about different projects we’re working on. It’s a bit disorganized if you’re just looking at it, but we know where everything is. We don't worry too much about being perfectly tidy. As long as the work is getting done and the quality is there, we’re happy with how things are going. The dog from next door often sleeps on our porch, and we don't mind. It's a quiet place to get things made and we like it that way. We don't have a lot of visitors, so we mostly just keep to ourselves.
