Indian Fine Art Cottage Industries

Our place, Indian Fine Art Cottage Industries, is located at D- 39- A on Street No. 5 in Chander Nagar West. It’s a bit tucked away in the lanes, so you have to look for Street No. 5 specifically. We’ve been operating from this location for quite some time now. The building is an older style, and we use most of the space to store and show various handcrafted items. Chander Nagar West is mostly a residential neighborhood, so it’s not as loud as the main markets, which we like. Most of our work involves checking the quality of the items that come in from the artisans. We deal with a lot of wood, fabric, and metal work. It can get a bit dusty with all those materials around, so we’re always wiping things down. The light in the shop isn't great, so we have to use several tube lights to make sure people can see the details of the work. Sometimes we sit out on the front step when things are slow and watch the neighborhood kids playing in the street. We don’t have a big fancy sign or anything. Most of our visitors are people who live nearby or someone who heard about us from a friend. It’s a quiet way to run a business. We focus on just keeping the inventory organized and making sure the items are handled carefully so they don’t get damaged. It’s just us doing our thing in Chander Nagar.
