Sar Handicraft

You can find us at No. 4/5, right by the Shahi Masjid in Rashid Market. This is in the Krishna Nagar area. It’s a very busy spot, especially around prayer times when there are lots of people near the masjid. Our shop is where we keep all the handicraft items and bags we have. It’s not a very big space, so we have to be organized, even if it looks a bit messy to an outsider. We have been in Rashid Market for a long time. You can hear the sounds of the market all day long, from the vegetable sellers to the motorcycles zooming past. We don't have any polished sales pitches. We just show people what we have on the shelves. Sometimes the kids from the neighborhood come by and look at the colorful things we have. We try to keep the prices fair because we know everyone in the area. The walls inside could probably use a fresh coat of paint, but we are usually too busy with the stock to worry about that. We close up when it gets dark and the market starts to quiet down. It’s a lot of hours on our feet, but that’s just the nature of the work here. We like being part of this community in Krishna Nagar. It feels like home after all these years of sitting in the same shop.
