Meena Export (I)

Our office is at number 40 in Shankar Vihar. It’s more of a residential-feeling area, which makes coming to work at Meena Export (I) feel a bit more relaxed than being in the middle of a high-rise district. We’ve got our desks set up and the phones are usually ringing with people asking about shipping dates or container space. Since we handle exports, there is always a lot of paperwork piled up, and we spend a good chunk of our day staring at spreadsheets and talking to transport guys. It’s not glamorous work, but it’s what we know. The neighborhood is fairly calm, and we’ve gotten to know the people at the local shops over the years. We don’t have a big fancy sign outside, just the number on the building and our name on the door. Inside, it’s mostly boxes and filing cabinets. We try to keep things moving as fast as we can, but with exporting, there’s always some delay or another that we have to sort out. It’s just how the business goes. We stay pretty busy from the time we get in until we turn off the lights. We don't really have a prepared speech about what we do. We just make sure the goods get from point A to point B without too much trouble. It’s a practical way to spend the day. Most of us have been here for years, so the routine feels very natural and comfortable.
