Hasta Shilp

Our place, Hasta Shilp, is located at A-93 in Ganesh Nagar II, over in the Shakarpur area. It is a typical East Delhi neighborhood where everyone lives and works close together. Our building is easy to spot once you get onto the right street, though the lanes can be a bit confusing for someone who isn't from around here. We work with crafts and handmade items, so our space is often filled with various materials and finished pieces waiting to be sent out. It’s not the neatest office you’ll ever see, but we know where everything is. There is usually a bit of dust from the materials, but that's just part of the job. We have a couple of big tables where we spread everything out to check things. The neighborhood is pretty loud with kids playing outside and vendors calling out their goods. We don't mind it much. It feels like being part of a community. We aren't a big factory; it's more like a workshop where we take our time with things. Sometimes we sit on the steps outside during our break just to watch the world go by. We’ve been at A-93 for a while now and the locals know what we do. We don't do much advertising. People mostly find us through word of mouth or because they saw our sign while walking to the main road. It’s a humble setup, but it works for us. We just keep doing our thing every day.
