Choco Holics

Our shop is over in Gautam Nagar at B/161/4. It’s a small room we converted to sell chocolates and cakes. My sister is the one who does most of the baking in the back. I mostly handle the customers and the cleaning. We aren't a big bakery with those giant glass windows. It’s more of a walk-in spot where you can grab something sweet. We have a fridge for the chocolates so they don't melt in the heat, which happens a lot during the summer. Sometimes the power goes out and we have to scramble to keep everything cool. We make brownies, some small cakes, and handmade chocolates with nuts or caramel. We don’t use fancy packaging, just plain boxes and some tape. It keeps the costs down for everyone. The shop usually smells like cocoa, which is nice, but after eight hours it can be a bit much. We don't have a lot of space for people to sit, maybe just two small stools by the counter. Most people just take their bags and head out. We’re not trying to be the biggest shop in Delhi. We just like making sweets and seeing the local kids come in with their pocket money. It’s a quiet life for the most part, except when we have a big order for a birthday. We just keep doing our thing every day.
