Akshayam Ghar Ka Khana Llp is tucked away in Gali No -32 in Madhu Vihar. It’s on the first floor of F-54, so you have to walk up some narrow stairs to find us. Mandawali is a busy spot, and our street is no different. We chose the name because that is exactly what we do—simple food like you’d get at home. My sister and I do a lot of the heavy lifting. There aren't any professional chefs with tall hats here, just people who have been cooking for their families for years. We buy our vegetables from the local market nearby every morning. The kitchen isn't huge, but it's enough for what we need. Sometimes the delivery guys get lost looking for the address because the house numbering in East Delhi can be a bit confusing. We just tell them to look for the blue door. We don't use a lot of fancy oil or heavy spices, just the regular stuff. It gets hot in the afternoons, but we keep the windows open. We’ve been here for a while now and most of our regular customers live right in the neighborhood. It’s a quiet life mostly, just chopping, stirring, and packing boxes. We like it this way. No big corporate offices, just a home-style kitchen in a real neighborhood. We often have a radio playing in the background to keep us company while we work. It's not glamorous, but it is honest work that keeps us busy from dawn till dusk.
