Laxmi Nagar is quite a trip to get to if you aren't used to the crowd. We’ve been at 168/5, J-Extn for a while now. The space isn’t huge but we cram it full of all sorts of handicrafts. Most days it’s just us moving things around and trying to keep the dust off the smaller items. It gets pretty loud outside with the traffic and people walking by. We usually open up mid-morning once the sun starts hitting the front door. Sometimes the neighbors come by just to chat while we’re sorting through new arrivals. It’s not a fancy place by any means. There’s a bit of a squeak in the floorboards near the back corner that we never got around to fixing. People find us easily enough though since the building stands out a bit. We spend a lot of time checking the stock and making sure nothing is broken. It’s a lot of manual work, lifting crates and unpacking things wrapped in old newspaper. We don't have a big team or anything, just a few of us who know where everything is kept. If you ask for something specific, it might take a minute to dig it out from the bottom shelf. That’s just how it goes here. We like the area because everything you need is just a short walk away. It feels like a real neighborhood even with all the noise.
