This address at 4/25 J.N.Das Path in City Centre Durgapur is where all our letters go. It’s a correspondence spot, so we handle a lot of the mail and administrative bits here. Even though it says Bankura district, it feels very much like the heart of Durgapur’s industrial side. At Lafarge India Pvt. Ltd., we keep this place running so the logistics elsewhere stay on track. It is a functional space, nothing more than desks, some old metal cabinets, and a lot of envelopes waiting to be stuffed. The street outside is always busy with people going to the shops or the bank. We don't have a lot of visitors, mostly just couriers and the occasional person asking for directions. The walls could use a new coat of paint, but they’ve looked this way for years. We focus on getting the details right in the logs and making sure the bills are paid on time. It is the kind of office where you can always find a spare pen but never the stapler. We take our breaks when we can and try to keep the noise down so we can concentrate on the figures. It’s not a glamorous job, but it is necessary for the bigger picture. We just keep our heads down and work through the stack of papers that arrives every morning on the desk, making sure everything is ready for the next day.
