Bansal Traders

Our shop, Bansal Traders, is tucked away in the D C Roy Co-Operative Market. If you live around Chandidas in the Burdwan district, you probably know the market well. It’s one of those places where everyone knows everyone else. We’ve been operating out of this market for a good while. It’s not a huge space, but it fits everything we need to run the business. Being in a co-operative market means there is always something going on. There are other shops all around us, and it gets pretty loud during the peak hours of the day. We usually start our day early to get things sorted before the crowds arrive. It is a bit of a trek for some people to get out here, but for the locals in Burdwan, it’s just part of their routine. We don’t really do much advertising or anything. Most of our customers are folks who have been coming to the D C Roy market for years. They know where we are and what we do. The shop itself is simple. We have our shelves and our desk, and we spend most of the day talking to people or checking our ledgers. It’s honest work. We like being part of the Chandidas community. Sometimes the rain makes the market area a bit messy, but we manage. That is just life here. We just keep doing what we do every day without making any big fuss about it.
