Das Enterprise

Down in Dhupchuria, things move a bit slower than in the big cities. We are located in Faridpur, which is part of the Burdwan district. Das Enterprise is just a simple place where we handle local trade and supplies. We opened up here because it’s where we live. Most of our days are spent talking to neighbors or local guys working on small construction projects. The air is a bit cleaner out here, though the humidity in the monsoon can be quite something. We keep the shop open early because that’s when people are out and about. We don’t have a big staff, just a couple of us making sure the orders are right and the supplies are coming in on time. Burdwan is known for its rice, but around here in Faridpur, there’s always some building or repair work going on. We try to keep the things people need most so they don’t have to travel too far. Our building is nothing special, just a solid structure that keeps the rain out. Sometimes we sit outside on stools when it’s quiet and watch the tractors go by. It’s not a complicated business. We buy things, we store them, and we sell them to the people who need them. It’s a quiet life, but it’s a good one. We’ve been part of this community for years and plan to stay right here in Dhupchuria for the foreseeable future.
