About Kodaikanal International School – Education in Dindigul
We are situated right at the Seven Roads Junction in Kodaikanal. If you know the town, you know this is a very central spot where several paths meet. The school has a long history in this hill station, and the buildings reflect that with their older style of architecture. Because of the elevation, it’s usually quite cool here, and often misty in the mornings. The campus is spread out a bit, and you have to walk up and down some slopes to get between different areas. It’s not like a flat city school at all. We have students from many places because of the international name, but at the end of the day, it’s just a school in the mountains. We deal with monkeys on the roofs sometimes and the damp weather that comes with being in the clouds. The classrooms are filled with old wooden desks and lots of books. People walk around in sweaters most of the year. There’s a lot of activity at the Seven Roads area, so it’s never completely silent outside our gates. We have a dining hall where everyone eats together and some dorms for those who live on-site. It’s a busy place with a lot of movement, but we try to keep a steady rhythm for the classes. It’s just a part of the Kodaikanal life, sitting there at the junction while the town moves around us. We focus on the daily routine and student life.
