siddharoda khanavali

Our khanavali is located in the Shivsheela complex on Gokul Road in Hubli. It is a very busy spot because the new bus stand is right across the street from us. You can hear the buses honking and the conductors calling out all day long. We also get people coming from the airport road since it’s on the way. Being a khanavali, we serve the kind of food people in North Karnataka grew up with. It is simple stuff. We have been here for a good amount of time and seen the new bus stand get built and the road get wider. The complex we are in is also home to a few other shops. It’s a lot of work running a kitchen in such a fast-moving area. People are always in a hurry to catch their bus to Dharwad or Belgaum. We have to be quick. I usually handle the money and talk to the people who come in. Some days it is very dusty because of the construction on Gokul Road, but we try to keep the inside clean. We don't have a big mission or a fancy story. We just opened this place because we knew how to cook this food. It is a local business and we are happy staying small. If you are near the bus stand, you will probably see our sign across the road.
