Sagar Delhi Tandoori

We are located in Gopankoppa, which is a bit away from the main center of Hubli. Sagar Delhi Tandoori is a small place where we focus on the tandoor. You can usually see the smoke coming out of the chimney from down the street. It’s mostly a local crowd here. People from the neighborhood come by in the evenings to pick up dinner for their families. We have a couple of wooden tables if you want to eat right there, but most people take it away. The kitchen is the main part of the shop, and the clay oven is always hot. My brother and I started this because we wanted to do something on our own. We don't have any big signs or bright lights. It's just a simple shop on a quiet road in Gopankoppa. Sometimes the electricity goes out and we have to work by candlelight for a bit. That’s just life in this part of town. We spend a lot of time kneading dough and marinating things. It’s a lot of manual work and our hands are always covered in flour or spices. We don’t have a big menu because we prefer to just do a few things well enough for the regulars. We’ve been here for a few years now and people seem to know where to find us. It’s not a polished place, just a regular tandoori shop for the local people who live around here. We close up once the coals go cold.
