ROYAL CHICKEN

Our shop is located in Shri Nagar, right over in the Dharwad Kvv area. Most people find us because we are sitting right beside the Shivalaya. It’s a busy little corner of Dharwad. We handle a lot of chicken here every single day. The deliveries come in early when the air is still cool, and we spend the morning getting everything processed and ready for the customers. It’s not the cleanest work, but it’s what we do to make a living. We see a lot of students from the university nearby coming through. They are usually looking for something quick and easy. We don't have a big team, just a few of us who know the routine. We’ve seen the neighborhood change quite a bit over the years, with new shops opening up and more traffic on the roads. But we just stay here in our spot near the temple. The floors need scrubbing constantly and there’s always a knife that needs sharpening. It’s a simple business. We don't spend money on big ads or anything like that. People just know where we are. If the power goes out, which happens sometimes, we just keep working by the light from the door. We don't have any fancy mission statements. We just sell chicken to the people in Shri Nagar and try to get home at a decent hour. That is basically our whole day.
