Picnic Paradise Restaurant

Down on Gokul Road in Hubli, you’ll find us near the new bus stand. Being so close to the bus stand means we see a lot of tired faces coming through our doors. Picnic Paradise is a name that we liked because it sounds a bit more cheerful than just a regular canteen. The area is always buzzing with people carrying bags and looking at schedules. We try to be a place where they can just sit for a minute and eat something before their next trip. The interior is just basic tables and benches. We don't have air conditioning that works all the time, but we have fans that keep the air moving. The menu is mostly things that we can cook quickly because people at a bus stand are usually in a hurry. We wake up early to get the first batches of food ready before the early morning buses arrive. It’s a lot of repetitive work, but we’ve gotten used to the rhythm of it. The floor gets swept a dozen times a day because of all the sand and dirt from the road. We aren't looking to be a five-star establishment. We just want to be the place where you can get a hot meal without any fuss. It isn't always easy, but we have been at this for a while and we know what people expect when they hop off a long bus ride.
