Karnatak Bhavan Restaurant

Our spot is right on P B Road in Dharwad, and we’ve been here longer than I can remember. Being so close to the Civil Court means we get a lot of folks coming in with heavy folders and lookin' a bit stressed, so we try to get their food out fast. It’s a pretty basic setup. We’ve got some sturdy tables and the kitchen is right there where you can hear the clatter of the pots. Dharwad is a busy town, and this road is one of the main veins, so there’s always a bit of dust and a lot of noise from the traffic outside. We open up early to get the first batch of coffee ready for the people heading into the court or the offices nearby. It’s not the kind of place where you’ll find fancy decorations or soft music. It’s just a local eatery where the food is consistent and the water is cold. Sometimes the fans are a bit loud and the walls could use some new pictures, but it’s home to us. We know most of the people who walk in, and they know where to sit. It’s just a simple, honest business. We don't do much in the way of marketing. If the food is good, people come back, and that’s been enough for us all these years. Anyway, that’s about all there is to it. We just keep the doors open and the stove hot.
