Prayukti Farmers Producer Company Limited

Down in Bhadvel, specifically in the 181 Acharya Was area, that is where we started Prayukti Farmers Producer Company Limited. It is in the Wav taluka, which is a place where you really have to know the land to get anything to grow. We are a group of farmers who decided to stop trying to do everything on our own. It’s better to share the load. We don't have a big office building; we mostly meet up and talk about what needs doing for the next season. It's a lot of practical stuff, like where to get the best seeds this year or how to manage the water when it gets dry. The people here in Bhadvel are hardworking and don't care much for big words or corporate talk. We just want to make sure the work we do in the fields actually pays off. Sometimes we sit around in the evening and just complain about the heat or talk about the market rates. It’s a very local thing. We are all neighbors here in the Acharya Was area. We understand the struggles of being a producer because we are the ones out there in the dirt every morning. It’s not an easy life, but it is ours. We focus on the basics and try to make sure every farmer in our group has what they need to keep their farm running. It’s all about the community here in Wav.
